Effective adjustment of the gas boiler is much easier than it might seem.

The settings of the gas boiler should be interested long before the purchase, taking into account the needs and various features. We wrote what parameters can or should be changed in the device used. The new device should be set up and prepared for work, and some unwanted moments can be corrected.
Setting boiler automation and pressure
Reconfiguration is performed if the automation is triggered too often. This problem is called clocking, and it occurs due to an excessive increase in the temperature of the coolant. Reduce the gas supply to the main burner, so you protect the boiler from wear.
The method also has a backup option - just twist the tap in front of the boiler. Remember that incomplete combustion of fuel leads to an increase in the volume of flue gases and burning.
The installation location of the boiler in the kitchen: gas can be reduced with a tap after connection, as well as at the lowering point, if this does not interfere with the operation of the stove and other gas appliances
To get rid of timing, move the room thermostat (if any) to a colder place or lower the air temperature at the installation site. Increase the amount of coolant in the heating system. Replace the main burner if clocking is due to its increased power.
Problems with automation and frequent shutdown are observed in such circumstances:
- voltage dropped or jumped;
- strong wind extinguished the burner;
- reduced chimney patency;
- gas pressure decreased.
To improve the operation of automation, move the handle of the autoblock (gas valve) to the "spark" position. The igniter will light up (pilot burner, pilot burner). Leave the handle for 30 seconds in this position, and then return to the “off” position - a white circle.
Boilers are produced with thermostats (thermostats), daily and weekly programmers. The temperature regulator turns off the boiler when the set temperature is reached, then the device turns on automatically. While the owners are away, they can rely on a regulator with a 7-day work period. The daily device removes the need for constant monitoring of the boiler.

Pressure is established on the autoblock. For example, take Eurosit 630. The unit maintains the temperature of the water in the heating circuit and stops the gas supply in a dangerous situation. On the Eurosit 630 there is a knob that spins and has 7 flame modes - move it to position “1”, remove the cover and tighten the screw on the left under the handle. Turn clockwise - the gas supply will be smaller and smoother, the automation will work better.
Set the maximum mode as well. Move the handle to “7” and tighten the screw at the bottom of the unit, now counterclockwise. From a decrease in the flame level, the gas pressure and the efficiency of the boiler burner will decrease at the same power setting.
First determine the necessary parties on the autoblock. The surface with the handle, consider the side. The unit is installed in different ways: sometimes this side is on the side, sometimes on top. Do not confuse the required screws (gold-plated) with the fasteners.
The pressure must be reduced in such cases:
- the flame goes out soon after sunbathing; 2
- when igniting, there is cotton;
- the flame goes beyond its limits;
- red or red-orange color of fire.
Pressure usually rises in winter: gas distribution companies raise the value from 200 to 280 mm of water. Set the pressure regulator or reduce the flow through the lowering.
Preparing the boiler for work
The device is regulated after installation, ignition and prolonged shutdown. After installation, check all the sensors and fuses, the health of the nodes.
The connection and the first setup of the gas boiler must be performed by the employees of the company with which the maintenance contract was signed: they are required to check all key indicators and sensors, test the device in operation and instruct
When starting the boiler, five steps must be done:
- Warm up the device.
- Open the chimney gate fully.
- Adjust the flame to full power, to the blue and yellow segments.
- Cover the valve on the lowering until the yellow part of the fire is removed.
- Check the operating modes and automation, which is responsible for safety.
The same is done after installation.
Boilers need regular cleaning. After a break in the operation of the device, the chimney is filled with insects and spiders. Inspect the pipe and fan, remove small animals. Eliminate plaque from combustion products and ice. Clean soot from the combustion chamber. When contaminated, it causes ignition problems.
For the same reason, it is worth removing dirt from the insulator, where the wire that goes into the combustion chamber is located. Clean the item with a soft cloth. Remove large amounts of dirt with solvent. Dry the insulator before restarting the boiler.
Descale the heat exchanger walls in time. If the boiler does not heat well, flush the heating circuit as well. Pour in hot water and add a means to remove mineral deposits. Check the operation of the flow sensor, and if everything is in order with it, use the boiler.
How to adjust the draft in the boiler?
The draft weakens over time, so check it in the device and chimney. Take a look at the viewing window. Clean the exhaust paths from soot. Bad weather worsens the cravings: gases do not always come out completely, and the incoming air can interfere with the burner. Inspect the structure of the chimney, compare it with the requirements of SNiP 2.04.05-91.

The draft regulator (gate) is installed with excess traction. In this regard, the opposite problem arises. The chimney excessively cools and gradually becomes condensed from the inside. The pipe is clogged by soot and ice accumulation. If you forget to twist the gate at least once every 2-3 days, then this device deteriorates, changing positions open / closed becomes impossible.
Select the draft regulator according to the principle: the longer the length or the height of the chimney - the smaller the diameter of the gate compared to the same indicator of the pipe. Then the chimney will last longer.
There are also combustion controllers, sometimes called mechanical traction controllers and fur. temperature regulators. Devices of this type are more often installed on solid fuel devices, but they are also used on gas devices - a water thermostat - there is no chain on it. Units for gas boilers do not affect draft regulation in the chimney.
The setting of the combustion controller for a gas boiler looks like this:
- Before installation, drain the water from the boiler, and if the heating system cannot be isolated with taps, then remove the entire heat transfer medium.
- Remove the plug and screw in the adjuster instead.
- Then fill the system with coolant and light the burners.
- Scroll the knob to the desired temperature position.
Refer to the marks on the flywheel if the exact temperature is not displayed on the controller. In the summer, set exactly in the middle of the gap between low and medium values. In winter - between medium and high.

Before stopping at some optimal value, check all temperature modes.
Incendiary device setting
Prepare pliers, multimeter, screwdrivers, spanners and alcohol. Carefully remove the terminals, close together and tighten with pliers. Start the pilot burner. Consider it and check the resistance with a multimeter. If the value is not 1-2 ohms, replace the draft meter with a new one. If within normal limits, clean the sensor with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Reinstall and check if the ignition device is working.
Sometimes the problem remains. In this case, inspect the thermocouple breaker (traction breaker): remove the terminals and determine the resistance. If the value does not match 3 ohms, use open-end wrenches.
Using tool No. 9, remove the nut that connects the breaker and thermocouple. Then with a key number 12, unscrew the traction breaker half a turn. Then take the contact insert and remove the breaker. Use a No. 9 wrench to connect the solenoid valve and the thermocouple. Check ignition. If it does not turn on, the problem is in the thermocouple.
Remove the fasteners between the thermocouple and the pilot burner with a No. 10 wrench and check the electromotive force of the thermocouple with a voltmeter. In the case of a working thermocouple, simply wipe with alcohol its connection with the breaker and assemble everything back.

The gas supply to the boiler is as follows:
- Gas enters the strainer, which purifies the fuel from solid microparticles.
- Fuel goes further with the valve open and the solenoid valve.
- Gas enters the pilot burner.
- A lit ignitor gives flame to the main burner and to the thermocouple.
The control system starts the flame on the main burner if the fire is also present on the pilot. It stops the fuel supply in the absence or strong reduction of draft in the chimney. An automatic control circuit provides maximum safety when supplying gas to boilers and other similar devices.
Gas boiler power adjustment
In this case, the task is to reduce or increase the indicator. An indirect way of adjustment involves reducing the flow through the taps: which is after connecting to the boiler and the one on the lower side. The regulation range will decrease, so it is better to prefer direct methods.
To increase power, select an option:
- Set the burner to the desired value - relevant for modulating units.
- Buy a more efficient burner.
- Replace nozzles with larger ones. Remember, with an increase in heat transfer, the boiler will increase gas consumption, the risk of breakdown ahead of time, and efficiency will decrease.
Ideally, the setting to increase power is best left to a boiler specialist. The capacity growth in these options reaches 15%. If this is not enough, use additional devices to heat the rooms. Do not forget to clean the boiler to maintain the power level.

Sometimes you have to reduce power. First, it is controlled through the menu: parameters of the heat exchanger temperature and anti-cycling time. Then adjust the circulation pump. If necessary, change the burner to modulation.
Reasons for changing the boiler power:
- Increase: it is necessary to re-equip the device at the same time with increasing power, connect an indirect heating boiler, the area for heating has increased.
- Decrease: failure of one of the functions (heating or hot water supply), part of the functionality (heating of individual rooms, underfloor heating), decrease in boiler performance.
In case of excessive fuel consumption, it is worth inspecting the secondary heat exchanger and removing the salt residues manually or by chemical composition. A typical gurgling during the operation of the boiler will indicate pollution.
The flow rate increases due to the low specific calorific value (calorific value) of the gas. The norm is at least 7,600 kcal m³. In poorly drained fuel, the calorific value drops almost twice.
Also adjust the gas valve. They are regulated, depending on the structure:
- single-stage only have “on” and “off” positions;
- two-stage valves are equipped with 1 input and 2 outputs, and they open at an intermediate position;
- boilers have three stages, which have two power levels;
- with the help of modeling valves, power can be regulated more smoothly, they have many flame modes, in addition to the on and off positions.
Look at the color of the flame. If it has a noticeable yellow part, screw the valve on the lowering to reduce the fuel supply.

Set the heating operating temperature on the thermostat again. The principle of its action is that the rod is included in the work. With a drop in temperature, the element decreases and opens the fuel supply. An increase in temperature leads to an increase in the rod, which is why gas begins to flow in a smaller volume.
If there is a lack of air, inspect the shutter, boost and temperature control. When the main burner is ignited, popping appears due to clogged air supply paths. Remove dust from them and inlets.
